We’re excited to announce a Civic Hackathon as part of the TechJobsLA event on April 5th at Blankspaces DTLA. In addition to many company booths and workshops, we’re now working with LA City Controller Ron Galperin, Code for Los Angeles, Community Hack Night, The Los Angeles User Experience Meetup, and LA PHP Meetup groups to help build out the city’s open data initiative.

The hackathon will be held at the same time/location at the job fair/workshops in the heart of downtown LA behind Pershing Square at the brand new Blankspaces coworking space on April 5th starting at 9:30 am and ending approximately at 2:00 pm.

We’re looking for experienced developers to work with our team of accomplished UX/product managers for a four hour work session aka hackathon.

If you are an experienced developer with extensive backend experience with databases, PHP, Javascript and APIs, we’d love to have you join this fun event to give back to the city.

We’ll supply goals in the upcoming few days along with more details during a kick off orientation that morning. We’ll also supply lunch, comfortable chairs, fast internet and various caffeinated drinks that day. Our UX/product managers and other judges will pick out the two best contributors that day to win one of two $100 Amazon gift cards supplied by TechJobsLA.

Your $5 registration includes lunch, drinks (coffee, Red Bull, soda), and access to the job fair when you have a few “spare moments.”
